Brian Gilhooly Memorial Cup

This trophy is played for annually during the first round between Napier Old Boys Marist and Hastings Rugby & Sports colts teams.
The trophy was presented by the Gilhooly family,  as a memento of the late Brian Gilhooly, who had played and coached the former Hastings Celtic club and then on moving to Napier as proprieter of the Criterion Hotel, coached the Old Boys Marist Colts prior to his passing.
Brian was a player with extensive experience having played for Taranaki, Wellington, Horowhenua and Hawkes Bay.
The impressive trophy which was  played for the first time  in the 1996 season is always keenly sought after by both clubs colts teams.
Long may the traditional continue.
