26.10.07 I would like to say thanks to NOBM for their involvement in hosting the 2007 Ross Shield from all of us on the Organising Committee (& me personally). I would like to give a special mention to the following; Doug Nevison, Gary Leahy and Mike O'Connor; who not only ensured the Tournament was a huge success but also for their assistance throughout the season with use of the fields, equipment, dressing rooms and Clubrooms by the Napier Primary Schools and Ross Shield Representative sides. Conrad Knapp
1.4.07 I was pleased to see that your Colts side has been doing really well. The late Brian Gilhooly would be stoked, of course since his passing, a match every year against Hastings carries a Cup bearing his name. My son played in the side back in 1995 which won the Cup for the first time. I remember the Coach of the NOBM side sent his Captain Glenn Varcoe and Kelly O'Rourke over to shake hands with Di Gilhooly before the Kick Off. A very moving moment and it was a very motivitating factor. My husband at the time said, "that Coach will win a lot of games with this youg side as he thinks". He was right as the team went onto win both rounds. Anyway I find myself back in Hawkes bay and will always support NOBM because of the People involved. I was a Taradale supporter All the Best for 2007 Kim Attwell
18.1.07 Hey just wanted to say good luck for Marist 2nds for this coming season! As always Kylie and I will be on the stands for support!! Cathleen Adams
11.1.07 Kia ora NOBM Just a quick message to say hi from Deley and Roger. Congratulations to all the hardworkers on the committee, your web page is exceptional. Desley and I had some of our most enjoyable times both on and off the paddock in our years with your club. Great to see some of my era on the board and coaching staff. Putting back into the club. Big gidday to Gibbo, Philby, Bobo, AJ, Mick, Richard, and all the others around in the early days- Happy new year Roger and Desley Aranui
29.7.06 We have been going into your website since our son, Andrew( or as most know him, Spud )started playing for NOBM this year and we would like to congratulate those involved with putting the site together and keeping it updated. It is very interesting reading and there is so much on the site alot of effort obviously goes into it. We enjoy reading the Team talk each week as with another son playing for Marist in Palmerston North we go to watch his game and don't always get to see Andrew's game. So Thanks for an always up to date newsy site. Chris & Bernard Murphy

Big hand to you all for all your hard work, Players should be thankful for your generosity. I am currently trying to put together a inter club fixture for the post season, lets hope this can become a reality, be a great oppotunity to build and develop youth rugby futher. All the best for the rest of the season NOBM Miss the Bay and the club Greg Will
1.2.06 I would like to say a Big hello to any of the Colts rugby team of 1995-1996. I was sad to hear the passing of Trev Clayton some 3 yrs ago. If anyone see's Tom Elers or Pete Russell please say "Hi " and thanks very much for taking care of me. I was not a good player but you both made me really welcome. I am still living in Toronto Canada. I enjoy reading your website and check it often. Kim Attwell
14.1.06 Hi this is a message to MARTYN EVANS currently playing for the Napier Old Boys Marist Rugby Cricket Club. He's from Liverpool in the UK over in New Zealand having a wicked time by the sounds of it! Hope he's doing well - just a short message to wish and everyone at your club a very Happy New Year and all the success in 2006! Regards - HOLLINGBOURNE CRICKET CLUB, HOLLINGBOURNE, KENT, ENGLAND, UK Andy Griffiths
8.8.05 I would like to congratulate the Colts for their fine win on Saturday. I hope that they take the whole way and win the final! I note that in your report that the name of the scorer is incorrect It should Be "Hashem Shubber" and Not "Hasam Sahaba as indicated in the list of scorers. Salim Shubber
20.6.05 Why can't all the Premier team members wear their club shirts & ties after the game. In the past one of the good things commented on was the players dress after the game when the whole team turned out in club colours. All players should take pride in their club. Ron Gardiner
9.5.05 Just thought you guys should know that your half backs name is Huxford not Huxley or Huxly as you call him in your write ups and also your programmes on the weekend, Cheers Andrew Huxford

21.10.08 Napier Old Boys Marist is a Wonderful Club. Your Junior Club is well run, your Colts have a history of Success dating back to 1995, as I have read on this site, your Senior side(s) have gathered momentum, winning Cups, Trophies and being well represented in Rep Sides. Your Management is forever looking forward. May you have continued success on and off the field. I look forward to viewing/reading your website from my office so many miles away. Lisa Beatson
2.10.08 I would like to say well done to the three NOBM Magpies who came to the junior rugby club prize giving on Tuesday night. Michael Johnson, Matt Berquist and Sam Giddens all went out of their way to mix in with the kids and really entertained the crowd along with the MC for the evening Leroy Thomson who did a great job asking the really important rugby questions of the boys. I know that the kids get a real buzz from playing in the same club colours as the stars they see at the park and on TV and to get to see them up close was a real treat for them. So well done guys. Steve Smithers

Gomer Pyle
4.06.08 A big thanks to the 100th reunion celebration committee and workers. Desley and I really enjoyed catching up with everyone. Personally, I found the weekend inspiring. To see my old football mates, the proud players of the past in all the decades in the one place absolutely enjoying themselves. Marist has always been and will always be a special place for Desley and I. It only seems like yesterday that we donned the Marist colours and played with so much pride and passion for the club. To witness Bobo, Osh ,AJ, Mac and Putza honoured in front of the members was a highlight as was the retelling of stories and seeing the sparkle in the eye of everyone. To shake old Joes hand once again, to stand amongst the tall timber of forwards and feel what we felt back then....Marist pride and passion, to blame the backs and get blamed from the backs for what we did or didn't do, to drink the amber liquid like we had just finished doing battle, to remember the good ole days. (to listen to 24 verses of an old Irish rendition by Jim Benson....even that was memorable) Thank you for a great weekend. Roger Aranui
7.4.08 Would love to say 'good on ya ' to the Marist 2nds for their awesome win of 104 - 0 against Napier Tech - way to start of the season guys - keep it up. P.S Excellent kicking skills Sam :o) Cathleen Adams
