Club Affiliates

Due to the amalgamation of the Napier High School Old Boys Rugby (Est.1910) and Napier Marist Rugby (Est.1908) Clubs' in 1990 the Napier Old Boys Marist Club is in the unique position of having strong ties with both Napier Boys High School and St John's College, Hastings, and since the club's move to Park Island, Tamatea High School.

We also have school leavers from other local secondary schools in Hawke's Bay join our club each season. And the Club extends a warm welcome to all new players who "Team up with Napier Old Boys Marist".
Also players from other NZ Marist affiliate clubs who move into the region.

National Affiliation

Napier Old Boys Marist is also affiliated to the New Zealand Rugby Federation which has some twenty eight member clubs from Whangarei in the north through to Invercargill in the south. Through this valuable connection, Napier Old Boys Marist regularly has players from these affiliates who move to the region join our club. Players moving out of the Hawke's Bay region also often join up with these affiliates when they move to a new area. We endeavour to inform our outgoing players of these affiliate 'connections' and where possible arrange an introduction.

This NZ Marist affiliation also allows the club's members the opportunity to be selected for the national New Zealand Marist teams at both Senior and Colts levels, and to be able to participate in both NZ Marist sevens and fifteen aside teams at annual tournaments.

Domestic Affiliates

The Club is also affiliated to and provides a 'home' base for the Napier Old Boys Marist Cricket Club, Napier Ex High Marist Netball Club, Napier Marist Softball Club, Napier Marist Football Club (Senior & Junior divisions), N.O.B.Marist Rugby Cricket Club.  So you can see that our Club can cater for the sporting interests of the whole family.

Napier Old Boys Marist prides itself in being a genuine 'one stop sporting club'.

Pass the word around amongst your friends and aquaintances and invite them to 'Team up with OBM'.

New members, both players and supporters of all codes under the banner of Marist Sport are always WELCOME.

Napier Old Boys Marist rugby and our affiliate sporting codes certainly are represented by a large number of active adult through to juniors as well as officials and supporters of the various teams and clubs  -  There are are in excess of 2300 who have an affinity to our 'Club'. 

All affiliate clubs have the use of our Rugby Clubs clubrooms facility for their aftermatch and other events, meetings etc and it has  worked out as a very harmonious relationship. It is quite common to see members of a numer of families playing different codes within our Clubs multisport network.

Rugby - 4 Adult mens + 1 Womens  + 18 Junior and 2 Kindi U4 teams.

Cricket - 4 Adult mens + 1 Womens

Football - 5 Adiult mens + 1 Womens  + 35 Junior teams.

Netball - 9 Adult including 1 High School team.

Softball - 1 Adult mens + 1 Womens teams
